Bendigo is situated one and a half hours from Melbourne via the Calder Freeway. It boasts an excellent rail service to Southern Cross Station with trains running to and from Melbourne every hour during the day and Tullamarine International Airport is only an hour away by car.

Bendigo’s population of 100,000 people enjoy a great climate with four distinct seasons. Summers are very warm and dry and Winter is often characterized by frosty mornings followed by cool sunny days. Probably the most popular time to visit Bendigo is during its beautiful mild Autumn.

Bendigo evolved from the prosperous gold rush days in the 1800s. Many of the beautiful historic buildings in Bendigo reflect the wealth that gold brought to the district. Although there are still several working gold mines in operation in the region, Bendigo has also become a cosmopolitan bustling centre, well known for its many wineries, cafes, restaurants, art, culture and tourism.
