A large and well renowned private secondary school within easy reach of the Northern suburbs of Melbourne has asked us to recruit a Finance & Administration Manager to provide financial and administrative leadership and support to the Principal, Business Manager and Senior Leadership to ensure effective financial decision-making.
Experience Required:
• Tertiary qualifications in accounting
• Member of Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand or CPA Australia
• Extensive previous experience in Financial Management
• Previous relevant experience and demonstrated knowledge in an Education Environment highly regarded
• Experience in developing and Leading Projects
• Previous experience in a range of Accounting Packages
Responsibilities:
Finance
• Manage, supervise and direct the financial operations of the school on a day-to-day basis, including accounts payable and receivable functions
• Day-to-day management of aged debtors and debt collection processes, including interviews with fee remission appraisals and making recommendations regarding legal action
• Ensure finance systems, policies and procedures meet the school needs, legislative requirements and are efficient and effective
• Responsible for the completion of end of month processes, including balance sheet reconciliations, updated financial asset register, journals and trial balance
• Prepare and submit statutory reports, including but not limited to BAS, FBT, Foundation Financial Statements, Annual Financial Statements and ACNC reporting
• In consultation with Business Manager, prepare financial reports to senior leadership, Finance and Risk Committee and governing bodies
• Analysis of performance against budget and regular Reporting throughout the year
• Prepare the draft budget for consideration by the Principal and Business Manager
• Ensure the smooth running of annual external audit process, including preparation and provision of financial data and reports
• Administer lease procurement arrangements
• Administer insurance claims and payments
• Provide financial support and advice to the Principal, Business Manager and other Leadership roles
• Complete other financial analysis and forecast reports as requested by the Business Manager
Administration
• Manage, supervise and direct administration functions of the school related to financial processes, including reception and payroll functions
• Ensure administration systems, policies and procedures related to finance meet the school needs, legislative requirements and are efficient and effective
Records
• Oversee the safe custody of personnel, financial and administration records of the school
