Our client is on the lookout for a Forklift Operator who will be Responsible for the efficient and safe utilisation of labour, equipment and to provide forklift services necessary to maintain production and distribution requirements.
Responsibilities
- To operate forklift in a safe and courteous manner
- Procedures and safety rules are followed.
- To ensure that services and general maintenance is carried out, including but not limited to washing of forklift and completing daily checklist.
- Ensure empty pallet supply is maintained to the line to ensure continuous production.
- Full pallets are wrapped, labelled and capped to optimise presentation and load integrity.
- Take full pallets to the warehouse and staging areas to ensure that stock is rotated at all times.
- Maintain warehouse in a clean and tidy state.
- Ensure trucks are loaded as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). In some cases this loading may take place outside of normal working hours (if required).
- Provide stock information on full and empty bags plus Chep and Loscam pallets as requested by the Packaging, Dispatch & Inventory Supervisor (PDIS).
- Liaise with the Despatch Office staff and/or the PDIS regarding special loading, labelling and picking requirements for orders.
- Liaise with carriers regarding delivery instructions and information.
- Undertake other duties as requested by PDIS which may include but not limited to production work in the Bagging Shed.
- Shift work may be required by this position
Requirements
Proven working experience in similar roles is desirable
- High Risk LF Forklift Licence is required.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximising the effective manufacture is an advantage but not essential
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instruction in work related documents.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, rules.
- Ability to work in a team environment to collaboratively achieve results.
- Ability to attend to detail and to produce accurate work.
- Ability to achieve quality customer outcomes.
- Ability to be professional, resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise.
