Our clients are seeking an experienced and motivated Mechanical Workshop Manager to oversee the daily operations of their busy workshop. This role is ideal for someone with a solid background in mechanics who is also adept at managing a team, building customer relationships, and ensuring the smooth running of workshop operations. Our client is located roughly 25 minutes outside of Shepparton.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring all jobs are booked in and tracked efficiently.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers.
• Foster a harmonious team environment where mechanics support and assist each other.
• Delegate tasks based on individual skills and provide feedback, ideas, and instructions to support the mechanics.
• Manage the upkeep and condition of workshop equipment and fixtures, notifying management of any needs for new products or equipment.
• Advise customers on whether to repair or replace products based on cost-effectiveness.
• Handle customer payments for completed jobs and book out reasonable hours for each job, considering the customer’s situation.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a mechanic is essential.
• Prior experience in a managerial role.
• Strong customer service skills with a knack for building good relationships.
• Excellent team-working skills and the ability to establish a positive team dynamic.
• Comprehensive understanding of motorbike maintenance, parts, and accessories.
• Strong communication skills and a passion for the motorbike, power equipment, and garden equipment industries.
